Chester's story
Meet CHESTER!
Male, Orange & Buff Tabby
Chester came to us during Hurricane Florence along with his buddy, Hershey. They were tiny babies, hungry, wet and covered with mud! The little things were pitiful, but a day later we had them on a regular schedule of bottle feedings, a nice warm bath and lots of snuggles!
With littles' we have to help keep them clean as they learn to use their litter box and eat, so Chester & his mates, Hershey & Hardee have had their share of dawn baths' around here. Chester didn't seem to mind them at all - he just relaxed and let the water run all over him... We had to laugh, but we have had lots of kittens over the years who didn't mind baths, Chester just seemed to ENJOY them!
Orange cats are known for their easy going demeanor, and Chester is no exception! Chester is REALLY easy going, pretty lazy and loves to snuggle - A LOT! When you pick him up he just sinks' into you and completely relaxes! He likes to be held and just hang around on you - just purring and loving! He is quiet, and eats both Purina Kitten Chow & Science Diet Chicken & Liver Canned food for Kittens... He knows his name, uses the litter box and moves around the house comfortably. He has had experience with other kittens (older & younger), older cats, young children and older adults. Chester will do well in any household, but will want a lot of attention and enjoy a lap to sleep on in the evenings and a bed to snuggle in at night.
Because Chester came to us when he was so extremely young (about 2-3 weeks old), he has not learned things that normal' kittens would have from their Mamma - he does not know to be afraid of some things (dogs, snakes, noises, cars, etc). With that in mind, Chester will need to be an inside only cat or have a completely protected area outside or with human supervision. He will likely act more like a little dog - meet you at the door, follow you around, go to bed with
He will likely act more like a little dog - meet you at the door, follow you around, go to bed with you, etc... He is likely going to be a large cat, as he is much bigger than his mates.
Chester's favorite toys are toy springs from chewy.com and a long grosgrain ribbon he can roll around with and drag! He also uses a scratching post! He is treat trained (comes when you call "treat") - this is helpful if you need to get his attention for any reason (medicine, vet trips, play time, dinner, visitors).
Chester will adjust well to any household - slow & quiet or busy & bustling. He would adjust to other animals with guidance, as well. His adoption fee of $85 covers his neuter, microchip and kitten vaccinations. If you are interested in Chester, please contact his foster parents at
